Community Anchors' Fund Glasgow

We have been working in partnership with Virgin Money Foundation since 2020 to deliver the Community Anchors' Fund Glasgow — aiming to fund the vital anchors of Glasgow’s community to reduce poverty across the city.

To date, the Community Anchors' Fund Glasgow has helped 27 organisations through 49 grants with over £1M to local charities like Crookston Community Group, Crossroads Youth and Community Association, Cranhill Development Trust, and more.

Some of our Community Anchors

Cranhill Development Trust

First created to support resettled refugees in growing numbers in Glasgow, Cranhill now supports the whole community.

With activities including job clubs, digital inclusion programmes and a community shop, we’re proud to have supported this community anchor.

The People’s Pantry

Supporting those living in the G41/G42 postcode areas of Glasgow, this service provides access to affordable, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food and household essentials.

After becoming a member, those who use The People’s Pantry can can shop weekly for £4 and fill their baskets with purchases up to the value of £30.

Woodland’s Community Gardens

Opening in 2010 and occupying a vacant site in West Princes Street, the gardens have become an important local space where people make new friends and feel part of the community.

The gardens have helped around 50 households grow their own fruit, vegetables and herbs each year.
